Crafting the Excellence of Xinbanzhang Puer Tea

Xinbanzhang Puer Tea is sourced from the famed tea-growing region of Yunnan, where ancient tea trees provide the foundation for this premium tea. The leaves are carefully handpicked by local farmers during the spring harvest, ensuring only the tender, high-quality leaves are used.

After harvesting, the leaves are meticulously withered and pan-fired to halt oxidation, preserving their unique character. For sheng (raw) puer, the leaves are sun-dried and then compressed into tea cakes or bricks, ready to age and develop complex flavors over time. For shu (ripe) puer, an additional fermentation process is undertaken to create its signature dark, rich profile. This process, perfected over centuries, allows Xinbanzhang Puer to embody the essence of Yunnan’s tea-making tradition. Learn more about our dedication to quality on our About Us page.

How to Identify Xinbanzhang Tea Quality

How to Spot Premium Xinbanzhang Puer Tea
High-quality Xinbanzhang tea features large, intact leaves with a dark, glossy appearance for shu puer, or a vibrant greenish hue for sheng puer. The dry leaves should emit a fresh, earthy aroma with hints of wood or dried fruit. When brewed, the liquor should be a clear amber or deep red, depending on the type of puer. The taste should be smooth, layered, and free of bitterness, reflecting the tea’s expert crafting and aging potential. For additional tips on identifying premium puer teas, visit our Help Center.
