Rougui Cassia Bark Wu-Long Tea is crafted in the rugged Wuyi Mountains, where the rocky terrain imparts a distinct mineral richness to the tea. The process begins with the careful handpicking of mature leaves during the spring harvest. These leaves are selected for their robust flavor and potential for developing Rougui’s signature spicy and roasted notes.

After harvesting, the leaves are naturally withered to reduce moisture and then tightly rolled to release their essential oils. The tea undergoes a controlled oxidation process to enhance its depth of flavor. The final step involves roasting the leaves over charcoal multiple times. This step is carried out with great precision to achieve the perfect balance of smokiness, sweetness, and spice. This meticulous process, steeped in centuries of tradition, ensures Rougui’s bold character and aromatic complexity. Learn more about our traditional techniques on our About Us page.
